Today reminds me that this world
Has evil, hate and scorn.
And at the same time shows me,
How heroes can be born.
I will look upon my friends today,
And family in my life.
And no one will forget today,
No matter how they try.
Today it does not matter
If my blood sugar was high.
For I look up and I thank God
Today I have my life.

Your words are beautful! I live in New York and not far from Conneticut. My son is 10-years-old and was diagnosed last March with T1D. I found your blog and like to read about T1D from your point of view. Time goes fast, my son will be a teenager before I know it and I hope he handles his T1D as well as you.
